In the upper eyelids, excess skin can result in not only a tired appearance but may also result in obstructed vision. Eyelid surgery provides aesthetic benefits of a more youthful appearance and upper eyelid surgery often improves vision. The goal of lower eyelid surgery is to reduce sagging tissue and bags under the eyes. During surgery, Dr. Barbarino removes excess tissue through incisions in the natural eyelid folds leaving no visible scars. After the tissue is removed, the incisions are closed with fine sutures so that incision lines heal quickly and are unnoticeable.
View Before and AftersAs collagen levels begin to decline and sun damage and hormones leave the skin vulnerable to repetitive facial movements, crow’s feet develop. Blinking, smiling, squinting, and laughing exasperate the development of these fine lines. Crow’s feet can appear as early as 20 years of age. Dr. Barbarino’s technique includes use of neuromodulators, typically Xeomin®, into the crow’s feet, glabella and areas of concern to prevent the targeted muscles from contracting and to help eliminate unwanted lines. Once injected, fine lines become less visible and smoother, and the face appears more relaxed and rested. Dr. Barbarino’s Xeomin patients notice the result lasts up to six months.
View Before and AftersFor most patients, aging results in loss of volume in the under-eye area, the “tear trough”. Hallow tear troughs, dark circles, thinning skins, and wrinkles cause patients to look exhausted and older than their age. Dr. Barbarino uses dermafiller, a non-surgical alternative, in the tear trough area to add much needed volume resulting in a more rested and youthful appearance.
